Pistol was on fire for sure.
Pistol was on fire for sure.
I’ll try to fill in more here later but I have to get on a couple more things. Maybe even get my sailing thing together in case I get a chance to work my way up the looser’s bracket for a chance to redeem myself.
But here are some photos I grabbed in the afternoon to give you a sense of the action and conditions. Pretty short period wind wave for the most part but solid 4.2, 4.7 wind and some fairly insane action for sure.
Oh and the gear is pretty flipped out too. I’ll try to shoot a series on the fin set ups today for an upcoming blog.
The lead shot is Josh Stone pushing one. To the right, Josh going forward. The big back is Kevin and the real vertical one is Graham. Vinnie going backside. Boujmaa launching a big forward. And while Robby didn’t compete, he was in the house and threw down a sesh. That last shot is of course him just fire hosing one of his team guys big time.

The first day of the Pistol
6/16/11
Sure the conditions were for the most part, total crap even by Rock standards, yet, the place was on fire. Or at least the people that were sailing it anyway. Impressive show for sure. Josh Stone in the Expert final with Kevin, Boujmaa and Nathan. Nathan won the first round. Full results on the AWT site.
