No, I’m not talking about Leo.  (He is back out for the summer though.)  Rather, I’m stoked to let you know Linda Marshall is on the scene.  She’s never looked happier and you can tell she’s been taking excellent care of herself.  So let me open this blog with our first photo shoot together in quite awhile and I have to say I was more than stoked to try to fill her lens in spite of how embarrassingly flat it was this day.  No really.  It was so flat I nearly resorted to sailing the Rock.  But then I caught myself.

And I’m further embarrassed to not be going bigger with my sailing attack but I’ve got a couple injuries dogging me and the trainer doesn’t want me landing anything very hard or taking any chances with any lips.  So apologies to everyone while I hold back in favor of the soft landings and easy hits.

Yet another huge Mahalo out to Linda for dropping by and blowing off that trip to Brookings in favor of shooting us some photos of this 4.2 kind of summer afternoon (July 3rd) in the Cape.  And please don’t tell my trainer that I was overrigged on a 4.5 and that I went for this lip.  I really am supposed to be taking it easy.

These photos come thanks to Linda Marshall.  Long time

              staff photographer for Boardhead International.

Ok, so maybe it hasn’t been totally flat.  There was a little something the came through the last Sunday in June.  Just burly enough that the crew sacrificed three masts and a sail before lunch.  These shots courtesy of Trudy Lary.   And I am embarrassed to be so out of position on this first wave.  I have and will be working on both healing my injuries and building my confidence.  And I’m on a mission to be way better prepared for the next swell.

And let me leave you with a recent fog sesh in Bandon, with Tigi on hand to shoot a few for ya.  Madd windy on the beach but not so much out on the water.   So yeah,  I did a lot of schlogging for these and the dogs got the award for most fun had, by far.

Oh and I’d be stoked for you to meet “Owen”.  He’s my latest “one dog at at time” adoption project for the local shelter.  He’s coming along nicely too -- wants to please, learns super fast, seems to have an old soul for such a young dog and I sense he’s way ready for his next mission.

What else?  The red tide is dogging us but the ocean temp is nearly 60.  Whoa.   Freaking me out.  And sure the Tuna are in close but I have to wonder if we dare eat them.

Anyway, sorry to be so long with any news of here but I’ve been way overworked and feeling behind on more than this blog.  I’m almost stoked the wind hasn’t been blowing the last several days.  Stoked to get this out.  And at the risk of jiggering the opportunity, I’m thinking I might even have a little time to touch the gear and put some love on the van.

There’s even a teaser forecast for some windy waves in the coming week so yeah.
