And sure it wasn’t all fun and games out there.  It was light on the inside and the only jump points to be had were from off the lips.   I optimistically rigged 5.0 on the 92 when I got there, but as thrashed as my arms were from the week’s work and a pretty solid schlogathon the day before, I just couldn’t take the pain of bobbing for long and came back to put the 5.7 on the monster.  Not that that holding the big sail is any picnic either.  But at least I wasn’t schlogging as much and was getting down the line with a little more authority.

And it was most excellent to see the some of the crew rallying for this one.  It was after all just a little unusual to get blue sky north winds this time of year.  Just ask Scott.  He was loving it too.

And James out for his first sesh of the year.

Clayton was taking his fair share of air off the lip and seems to be loving the fresh 84 quad.

I think that was Jeff’s first sailing day of the season as well.  And what a perfect condition to kick it off, yes?

Ok, maybe a little more wind would have been nice too but hey.

So yeah.   Madd gratitude for all the gifts, the photos, the gear, the great food, for this most magical moment, for the most excellent signs, all the sweet love from the dogs, all the progress on my lists, ...   It really is so good.   And I’m always so amazed what a couple of great days can do to snap one out of a funk.

It’s usually best to give way when I’m hucking one with “the Monster” ...

( ... as she’s a rather weighty, ten year old, hundred liter production Ordonez that’s on her third finbox. )

So that’s it for this one.  But look for some more soon.  I’m still holding some stuff Clayton shot the day before this, as well as some shots from the last couple projects.  Oh yeah, and the next storm looks promising.

A huge Mahalo out to Nancy Pruitt for taking the day off to be with us, as well as shooting all these most beautiful and well timed photographs.   She continues to impress us with her sense of the moment and her stoke for honoring Steve’s legacy.  And for being so on it.  Huge.
